In early 2022, Viktor was approached by a documentary filmmaker, Olivier Sarbil, who was working on selecting the subject for his film about the life of Deaf people in Ukraine, with the Russian attack on the country becoming the turning point of the work and Viktor himself at the center of it.
Although the film depicts Viktor's journey toward becoming an official volunteer battle photographer on the eastern front, his photography work started long before. As a child, he picked up a camera no one was using and surprised everyone with his gift of capturing striking shots of the world around him. Since then, he has been photographing urban scenes and landscapes as well as portraiture, eventually graduating from the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture in videography. Viktor still lives in Kharkiv and is currently accepting commissions.
